Banana leaves are “golden leaves” for South East Asians living overseas, especially in Cape Town and other part of South Africa, as it is very rare. Banana leaves are used to wrap some Indonesian and South East Asian foods, savouries and desserts. It adds on beautiful fragrant as well as a natural culinary wrapper/liner. Banana leaves are used to wrap rice before steaming, so-called Indonesian Lontong/rice cakes, to line fish in the griller, to wrap many traditional desserts, to serve as a platter among many other functions of banana leaves.

Please be noted in the event this South East Asian produce is not in season or scarce, we will freeze the fresh produce. Use the frozen produce directly, do not thaw.
